Maddie May Analysis

Aqueduct Race 7

Post: 3:57 PM ET; Purse: $100,000 Maddie May S., 1 Mile on Dirt; Entries: 8

Yo Cuz favored in featured at Aqueduct.
Yo Cuz is favored in the Maddie May and already has a win at Aqueduct
  • #6 SANDY'S GARDEN (5-1) may just be able to pull the upset here. The speed figures for this runner are the top in the group and the race flow should setup well.
  • #1 STONE CREATOR (7-2) will be forward and depending how the track is playing that can be extremely difficult to overcome.
  • #8 YO CUZ (3-1) stacks up well with these on paper and hasn’t done too much wrong in recent starts.
  • #5 THINKING IT OVER (5-1) is a fringe contender that wouldn’t be a total surprise in the winner’s circle.

Selections: 6-1-8-5

President’s Day Undercard Analysis

Aqueduct Race 1

Post: 12:50 PM ET; Purse: $35,000 Maiden Claiming, 6 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 7

  • #4 HEADS OR TAILS (6-1) goes out for a good barn and has breeding to have some level of ability at 6 furlongs.
  • #1 TRIPLE BROWN (4-1) comes into the race signaling a big effort here. This one is a definite player
  • #7 EMPIRE STATION (9-2) hasn’t won a race yet, but does boast the top in the money percentage at the distance in this race.
  • #5 BOINTHEBACK (6-1) has the best speed figures and class ratings coming into the race. The problem is that with horses that are so lightly raced, that may not be a true reflection of this horse’s ability against this field.

Selections: 4-1-7-5

Aqueduct Race 2

Post: 1:20 PM ET; Purse: $55,000 Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 6

  • #2 BUSTIN PIETRE (3-1) should be on the engine early. That can often be a huge advantage at these extended sprint distances.
  • #4 ALWAYS CHARMING (4-1) has the top class ratings of the group and that should serve this runner well here.
  • #3 READY TO MARCH (9-2) looks like a runner who could take advantage of the pace scenario in this race.
  • #5 GINNSU WARRIOR (7-2) has been a solid runner and makes sense in this spot as well.

Selections: 2-4-3-5

Aqueduct Race 3

Post: 1:48 PM ET; Purse: $22,000 Claiming, 6 1/2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 7

  • #3 FLEET WARRIOR (7-2) gets class relief here and that should make things much easier for this runner.
  • #5 SUMMER BOURBON (9-2) goes out for top connections and will be on the front early.
  • #7 P J ADVANTAGE (2-1) has the top speed figures in the group and comes into the race in top form.
  • #1 WINNING DRIVE (7-2) makes sense in this group and is a completely reasonable option to find the wire first.

Selections: 3-5-7-1

Aqueduct Race 4

Post: 2:18 PM ET; Purse: $28,000 Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 8

  • #7 VOICE OF SPRING (4-5) may be one of the most likely winners on the card with the top speed figures in the group. That being said, the price will make this one tough to swallow.
  • #1A CARLY HUSTLE (3-1) could carry this race based on the company kept in previous starts.
  • #1 GRAPE THERAPY (3-1) is coupled with the 1A. While I prefer the entry mate, this one is also viable as a stand alone betting interest.
  • #5 QUEENTIGUA (5-1) comes into the race in great form and will likely play a part

Selections: 7-1A-1-5

Aqueduct Race 5

Post: 2:50 PM ET; Purse: $70,000 Maiden Special Weight, 1 1/8 Miles on Dirt; Entries: 7

  • #1 EXCURSIONNISTE (5-2) has the speed figures and class to win this race. Selfishly as a partner in another Little Blue Bird Stables horse I will be hoping for this one to get the job done.
  • #4 FRONT PORCH (4-1) comes into the race in solid form and could be dangerous.
  • #7 SENSIBLECONCLUSION (2-1) will look to press the pace early and hope to carry this group around the course.
  • #2 CAVE MAN (9-2) will look to get a favorable race flow in order to break the maiden here.

Selections: 1-4-7-2

Aqueduct Race 6

Post: 3:25 PM ET; Purse: $35,000 Claiming, 6 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 8

  • #6 SIRENIC (4-1) will be forward early and has speed figures to suggest this one can get the job done.
  • #7 GUNS BLAZING (6-1) comes into the race in great form and will try to press the pace as well.
  • #4 QUALITY STONES (8-1) could get a really nice trip if the top 2 selections grind each other into the ground.
  • #5 GENTLE ANNIE (7-2) makes sense as a contender as well.

Selections: 6-7-4-5

Aqueduct Race 7

Post: 3:57 PM ET; Purse: $100,000 Maddie May S., 1 Mile on Dirt; Entries: 8

  • Maddie May Stakes race analysis provided above.

Selections: 6-1-8-5

Aqueduct Race 8

Post: 4:30 PM ET; Purse: $35,000 Maiden Claiming, 6 1/2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 10

  • #6 VINCENT (12-1) is my upset special for the day. I love price shopping in these maiden claimers and this one comes into the race looking ready to run a top effort at a fat price.
  • #4 REMEMBERMOM (4-1) has a solid foundation and speed figures to beat any previous efforts from the other foes in this spot.
  • #5 TOUGH WORKOUT (9-2) will look to get the right trip in this spot to break the maiden.
  • #3 TAMBURRO'S SOX (3-1) should be forward and has the benefit of being drawn inside of the other main contenders.

Selections: 6-4-5-3
