Nine of the 13 races from Gulfstream Park on Saturday will be stakes races. Perhaps none more fascinating to racing fans than the Fountain of Youth.

One of the things handicappers are always trying to decipher is how productive each Derby prep will be toward determining this year’s winner. Using past data, handicappers can see that this prep has had mixed results.
The last Kentucky Derby winner to win the Fountain of Youth was Orb (2013). Other recent in the money finishes include Ice Box (2010), Good Magic (2018), and Honor Code (2019).

- #10 GIANT GAME could be the improving type and I like this one who will likely be at a bit of a price.
- #9 HIGH OAK has run extremely well against some top fields and could get the right setup.
- #2 SIMPLIFICATION will likely be the favorite now with Mo Donegal scratching due to a fever. While I like this runner, I’m not thrilled with the price.
- #5 DEAN DELIVERS could be in a good spot to get the right run of the race.

- #9 FRIENDLY FELLA wouldn't be a huge surprise in the winner's circle.
- #5 TIGER is worth a look here given edges in race flow & pace numbers.

- #14 SIEMPRE ELEGANTE should be competitive today based on the horse's speed & connections.
- #12 BLINI should be competitive based on the overall power rating which has it tops in the group.

- #2 NEVER SURPRISED looks good in here. This one should have the stamina to make the most of the late kick. This one also has the top power rating in the group.
- #3 ENGLISH BEE should be able to work out a ground saving trip
- #7 MOUILLAGE is worth a look here given edges in connections & record at the distance.

- #13 MACKILLOP would be a much better bet if it were further in, but I think this one has some talent.

- #9 SORREL will have to work out a trip but is certainly talented enough to compete with these.
- #6 MEZCAL could get a perfect pace scenario today.

- #1 KATHLEEN O. will likely have the stamina to outlast these in the final jumps of the race.
