Tuesday Analysis

Parx Race Course Race 1

Post: 12:10 PM ET; Purse: $26,000 Maiden Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 8

In these maiden claimers, I will often stay away from the favorite when I can and this looks like a good place to take a shot. #2 WHERESTHEPASSION (9-2) is worth a look here given edges in class & form. #7 INSTANT CHAOS (3-1) should be competitive today based on the horse’s advantages in speed & record at the distance. #4 AKINGISALWAYSKING (6-1) looks to be in with a shot here. #1 BUDDYBOYSGOTSENSE (6-1) should be competitive based on the overall power rating which has it tops in the group.

Selections: 2-7-4-1

Selections: 6-4-1-2 (Best Bet #6 One Nation)

Parx Race Course Race 4

Post: 1:31 PM ET; Purse: $25,000 Starter Optional Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 10

#4 ENRAGED (4-1) is proven as a good bet to at least hit the board under today’s distance and surface conditions, but looks like he could do one better here. #5 BUFFALO SHUFFLE (6-1) should be competitive today based on the horse’s advantages in speed & form. #8 DIVINE MIRACLE (3-1) should be competitive based on the overall power rating which has it tops in the group. #10 ICE RAIN (9-2) is a player, but the tote may be a bit short.

Selections: 4-5-8-10

Parx Race Course Race 5

Post: 1:58 PM ET; Purse: $19,000 Maiden Claiming, 6 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 9

#6 TITANIC ROSE (5-2) should be competitive today based on the horse’s advantages in speed & form. #8 FLY FLY BIRD (5-1) is worth a look here given edges in race flow & breeding. #5 FIFTYSHADESOFRUN (8-1) is worth a look based on the foes this one’s faced thus far. #2 ANGELOFTHEGALAXY (8-1) is a longshot that shouldn’t be ignored in this mediocre group.

Selections: 6-8-5-2

Parx Race Course Race 6

Post: 2:25 PM ET; Purse: $23,000 Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 10

#9 BIG CITY BOB (9-5) is in with a great chance based on the horse’s connections & power rating which have it tops in the group. #3 THE RIGHT PATH (4-1) is worth a look here given edges in class & record at the distance. #4 HARPER (8-1) merits consideration in this spot given edges in speed & form. #7 DIESEL (6-1) should be in the right spot early to give this horse a chance to get the job done.

Selections: 9-3-4-7

Parx Race Course Race 7

Post: 2:56 PM ET; Purse: $100,000 Mrs. Claus S., 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 10

#4 DON’T CALL ME MARY (5-2) looks tough to beat here given the edge in a number of key categories including speed & class. #2 TRUTH HURTS (4-1) has run against similar horses to the #4 and isn’t that far off the speed numbers. #5 KAYLASAURUS (6-1) is worth a look here given edges in connections & record at the distance. #9 DR B (5-1) is an outsider who wouldn’t be a total shocker.

Selections: 4-2-5-9

Parx Race Course Race 8

Post: 3:27 PM ET; Purse: $100,000 Kris Kringle S., 1 Mile 70 Yards on Dirt; Entries: 11

#2 ROCK ON LUKE (5-1) looks like a strong prospect edging the field in several key handicapping factors including race flow & power rating. #4 DAVIDIC LINE (7-2) will likely play a factor in the verticals, though were remains to be seen. #1 I AM REDEEMED (6-1) goes out for a jockey trainer combination that has to be respected. #10 EVERETT’S SONG (12-1) is a nice big price that could surprise in this spot.

Selections: 2-4-1-10

Parx Race Course Race 9

Post: 3:58 PM ET; Purse: $100,000 Blitzen S., 6 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 16

This is a tricky race as three of the horses I prefer draw to the outermost part of the track. At Parx this tends to be far better than than rail, but still requires careful handling to get the best trip.

#12 DREAMS UNTOLD (4-1) has this group on speed figures alone. Add to the mix the connections and this one looks like a strong play. The major concern is the post position on this one. #11 FORTHELUVOFBOURBON (9-2) merits consideration in this spot given edges in speed & form. #3 PRINCE OF RAIN (8-1) is worth a look here given edges in record at the distance & power rating. #13 BATTLE STATION (8-1) is worth a look here given edges in class & pace numbers.

Selections: 12-11-3-13

Parx Race Course Race 10

Post: 4:25 PM ET; Purse: $21,000 Claiming, 6 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 11

#9 DAGGERBOARD (8-1) should be competitive today based on the horse’s advantages in speed & form. #11 R GOODTIME CHARLIE (3-1) is worth a look here given edges in record at the distance & race flow. #10 TAINO (5-1) has to be respected based on the connections. #4 THE REIGN MAN (6-1) could get a perfect pace scenario today to spring a major upset.

Selections: 9-11-10-4
