NBA Preview, Odds & Picks for December 7: Solid Value on Nets, Lakers As Slight Favorites

NBA Preview, Odds & Picks for December 7: Solid Value on Nets, Lakers As Slight Favorites

With ten games on Monday and 13 games on tomorrow’s NBA schedule, having a smaller schedule like today’s three-game slate isn’t the worst thing in the world. Besides, even though there isn’t much to choose from in terms of quantity, there is still some quality NBA betting value to be found among tonight’s games.

Tonight’s action tips off with some of the NBA’s biggest names taking the court in Dallas, as Luka Doncic and the Mavs take on Kevin Durant, James Harden, and the Brooklyn Nets. While the Nets are riding high in the East, the Mavs are treading water in the West, at best. At this point, we appear to be set for another season in which Luka went into the season as one of the leading NBA MVP candidates, only to fall down the list as the Mavs fail to reach the upper echelon of the Western Conference.

The other two games tonight are also Eastern Conference versus Western Conference matchups. In San Antonio, the Spurs take on the New York Knicks. The Spurs’ four-game win streak ended last night at Phoenix, but they pushed the Suns all the way in a 108-104 loss.

In the second half of the TNT doubleheader, LeBron and the Lakers host the Boston Celtics. Last month in Boston, the Celtics lit up the Lakers for 130 points in a 22-point win at TD Garden. Will the Lakers flip the script tonight at Staples?

Let’s take a look at tonight’s schedule and the top NBA betting picks from each game.

Betting News offers aggregated NBA picks for every NBA matchup every day. Below, we list the top recommended pick(s) for each matchup. In cases where the moneyline is the top pick percentagewise but provides little to no betting value (as a single straight bet), we list the best option among the other options.

NBA Betting Picks: Tuesday, December 7, 2021

Betting News aggregates our betting picks from trusted sports betting industry sources. Along with NBA picks for every NBA matchup, we also offer MLB picks, NFL picks, and NHL picks.

Brooklyn Nets vs Dallas Mavericks Betting Odds & Picks

  • Spread: Brooklyn Nets -2 (-108), Dallas Mavericks +2 (-112)
  • Total: OVER 220.5 (-110), UNDER 220.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Brooklyn Nets -126, Dallas Mavericks +108

The Nets lost at home to the Bulls in their last game, but they have been better on the road (8-2 SU) than at home (8-5 SU) and have won their last five road games. The Mavs are in the midst of a tough time, which might be understating things. They have lost seven of their last nine games overall, including four in a row at home.

New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs NBA Betting Odds & Picks

  • Spread: New York Knicks -1.5 (-110), San Antonio Spurs +1.5 (-110)
  • Total: OVER 211.5 (-110), UNDER 211.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: New York Knicks -120, San Antonio Spurs +102

The Knicks have struggled for form at Madison Square Garden, where they are 5-8 SU and 4-9 ATS. On the road, things have been better, as they are 6-4 SU & ATS. But the Spurs come into this one on the upswing performance and results-wise, and this a navigable matchup even after a taxing game against one of the NBA’s best teams last night.

Knicks vs Spurs Top Betting Pick: Spurs +1.5 (67 percent) & Spurs ML (67 percent)

Boston Celtics vs Los Angeles Lakers NBA Betting Odds & Picks

  • Spread: Boston Celtics +4 (-110), Los Angeles Lakers -4 (-110)
  • Total: OVER 219 (-110), UNDER 219 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Boston Celtics +154, Los Angeles Lakers -184

Jaylen Brown has missed the Celtics’ last two games and is out again tonight. But Boston has actually had more success without him (7-4 SU) than with him (6-7 SU). Their win over the Lakers last month was without him, with Jayson Tatum (37), Marcus Smart (22), and Dennis Schroder (21) all having big games in the rout. Schroder played like a man on a mission at the TD Garden–will he do the same in his return to Staples?

While our picks love the Lakers to win this one, we don’t have to tell you to tread cautiously on a team that has been very frustrating and unpredictable, to put it mildly.
