After a 19-point loss to Utah on Friday night, franchise cornerstone Luka Doncic called out his team’s lack of effort and heart. The next night, it looked like there might be a response, but things fell apart in the fourth quarter against the Suns. It was the Mavs’ fifth loss in a row and eighth in their last 10 games.
It’s still early enough to turn it around, but it will take more than Doncic for it to happen. The former NBA MVP betting favorite is the lone bright spot right now, however.
