Texas A&M Aggies vs Ole Miss Rebels Bettin Preview: Aggies, Rebels Look to Keep SEC West Hopes Alive in Oxford

Neither one of these teams is likely to reach the College Football Playoff, but they both still have a chance of reaching the SEC title game if things fall the right way.

That makes this one somewhat of an elimination game. It is also a matchup in contrasts, as A&M’s killer defense meets the Rebels' fantastic offense.

Texas A&M has a high-profile win over Alabama, but they don’t always bring their A-game. This one should be an entertaining chess match.

Texas A&M Aggies vs Ole Miss Rebels Best Bet

Ole Miss Rebels +2.5

The Aggies are hot right now. Since their win over Alabama they have rattled off three more wins, and the defense has not given up more than 14 points in any of those contests.

QB Zach Calzada may just be a placeholder, but with that strong defense and an explosive running game, the Aggies definitely have a way to win. This is just their second true road game of the season though, and it will be tough to win in Oxford.

Ole Miss has only lost to Alabama and Auburn, two teams that the Aggies have beaten. On the other side, the Rebels beat Arkansas, one of the teams that A&M lost to. Ole Miss needs to crank up their offense this week. QB Matt Corral is one of the most explosive players in college football, but he has been banged up and has not been as explosive over the last few weeks. Just as importantly, the Rebels need to play some defense to win. They bend more than most college football defenses, but they need to not break when it counts.

It is hard to make a case against Ole Miss on Saturday. They have the better quarterback (and he is mobile, which will help him get away from a good pass rush) and they are at home. Their defense can always make things interesting, but with a lot on the line, I am looking for them to rise to the occasion. The Rebels can win the division with a little help, and this is their last significant obstacle.
