Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview: Steelers Desperate for a Win Against AFC North Rival

These AFC North games are usually very physical and very close. That is what the Steelers are hoping for, a game they can hang in there and win at the end.

I say that because Pittsburgh just got whipped by Cincinnati last week, losing 41-10. They are currently in last place in the division at 5-5-1.

Baltimore is at the top of the AFC North standings at 8-3, but their point differential implies they have been a little bit lucky this season.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview

You have to hand it to Baltimore for being one of the more resilient teams in the NFL. They have only scored 16 points in each of their last two games, but they have won both and lead the AFC North.

This team definitely has some interesting statistical splits this season. They are second in rushing and second at defending the run. What jumps out is that they are giving up more passing yards than any team in the NFL this season. Some of that is playing with the lead, but it does not seem sustainable. They need the offense to get more productive and the defense to tighten up if they are going to win in the playoffs.

Pittsburgh is at the bottom of the AFC North standings, but with a couple of games left against Baltimore they can make up some ground. They have to get this one though. That means recovering quickly from getting trounced by Cincinnati last week.

Injuries are hurting the team for sure but that is affecting everyone at this time of the year. Not having standout pass rusher TJ Watt is a big one though. Even though Lamar Jackson is a scrambler you still want to bring the heat. Pittsburgh needs Roethlisberger to be better. Whether it is the end or not is to be determined but he is having his worst season in more than a decade.

Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers Best Bet

Baltimore Ravens -4

Pittsburgh got the Ravens both times last season. A third win in a row seems unlikely. The only advantage Pittsburgh seems to have is playing at home. They will be solid and as long as Big Ben doesn’t have a “bad day” this game will be close. I see the Ravens scripting Jackson to some early success and then the game going back and forth from there.

Prop Watch: Rashod Bateman Most Receiving Yards

I think the Steelers are going to do a good job bottling up the Ravens' top options, TE Mark Andrews and WR Marquise Brown. That means that Jackson will zero in on Bateman who has become a reliable option in the offense since getting healthy. There is a reason that payoff is as big as it is, and you know the Ravens want to run the ball but the leader in this game might only need 80-90 yards. This bet could make your whole weekend.
