Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview: Are the Defending AFC Champs Finally Ready for a Surge?

Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders Betting Preview: Are the Defending AFC Champs Finally Ready for a Surge?

The Chiefs have won their last two games to get back over the .500 mark, but neither win was convincing, so we can’t say that they are back just yet. Preseason NFL betting odds had the Chiefs as the leading option to win Super Bowl LVI, but they are ninth on the list as of today.

Can their resurgence continue with a return to first place in the AFC West? Since the Chiefs have been real good nobody in the AFC West has played them any better than the Raiders.

The Chiefs have been a tease all season long. We keep waiting for them to stop making mistakes and play to their potential. I think that could start this evening.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Las Vegas Raiders Best Bet

Kansas City -3

The AFC West is tight. The Chiefs are definitely not dominating this season though I think they are still the best team.

It is still hard to believe that Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have turned the ball over so much. They just can’t seem to play a clean game, but it is only a matter of time before they do. The Raiders have played them tight over the last few seasons, but that is not because they have bottled up Mahomes.

Last week the Raiders lost at the Giants as road favorites. It was a pretty listless performance as they scored only 16 points. This week they should be energized with the rival Chiefs coming to town in a pivotal division battle. This team is solid on both sides of the ball and won’t be intimidated by the Chiefs. Expect a better performance win or lose.

I think I might have picked the Chiefs every week, so I have definitely felt the sting of their unpredictable season. I still like them in this spot and probably any time they are short favorites. The Raiders’ loss last week did not look good. Maybe they rally, but I think the better bet is that Kansas City stops turning over the ball and finally gets their act together. Or both.

NFL Betting Prop Watch: Darren Waller Anytime TD Scorer

Waller is the best skill position threat for the Raiders. Kansas City is generally a little leaky on pass defense, and the Raiders are likely in a position of needing to throw it a lot to keep up. Waller is a great play today on yards and scores, but you get more punch taking him to find the end zone.
