New York Giants vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds & Best Bets: Brady, Bucs Look to Get Back on Track on MNF

New York Giants vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Odds & Best Bets: Brady, Bucs Look to Get Back on Track on MNF

Last season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers dropped three of four in the middle of the season to drop to 7-5. NFL betting odds didn’t completely abandon them, but they did fall behind other top title contenders.

Well, we all know how that turned out. The Bucs won their last four regular games then beat the Washington Football Team, New Orleans Saints, and Green Bay Packers on the road in the playoffs before defeating the Kansas City Chiefs to win Super Bowl LV in Tampa.

Will history repeat itself this season? The Bucs are in the midst of a little stumble as they get ready for tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup with the New York Giants. In Week 8, they gave up a season-high 36 points in a road loss to the Saints. After a bye week in Week 9, the Bucs started the second half of the season with a 29-19 loss at Washington.

Will the Bucs get back on track tonight against the G-Men? Or will the NFC East’s bottom dwellers score a win over the current Super Bowl LVI favorite?

Double-Digit Favorites Yet to Win in Week 11

There were three double-digit favorites on the Week 11 schedule: the Bucs, Cleveland Browns (vs the Detroit Lions), and Tennessee Titans (vs the Houston Texans). The Browns won straight up against the Lions but did not cover in a 13-10 win. The Titans, who entered Week 11 with the AFC’s best record, were brought down to earth by the Texans in a 22-13 loss, their first loss in three games without Derrick Henry.

Will the third time be the charm? The Giants are 3-1 ATS on the road this season, with the lone ATS loss coming against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. In their most recent road trip was Week 8’s MNF matchup, as they took the Chiefs to the horn in a 20-17 loss.

Bucs Look to Maintain Sparkling Home Record

The Bucs are 3-6 ATS overall this season, but that isn’t the fault of their home form. At Raymond James Stadium, the Bucs are a perfect 4-0 SU, and they have covered the spread three times. The only ATS loss came in their season opener against the Cowboys, who nearly pulled off a win in Tampa before Tom Brady did what Tom Brady does.

These two teams met last year on MNF, and the Bucs were favored by almost two touchdowns in that Week 8 showdown at MetLife Stadium. The Giants, who were 1-6 at the time, led 14-3 in the first half, but Tom Brady did what Tom Brady does and rallied the Bucs ahead in the fourth quarter. The Giants staged their own rally and were a two-point conversion away from tying things up in the final minute, but the Bucs came up with the stop to preserve a 25-23 win.

Such an outcome tonight would be in line with how this season has played out. Dogs are having their day this season, and they have been especially profitable on the road. Road underdogs have covered the spread over 60 percent of the time, and they have scored straight-up wins over 40 percent of the time.

This week, away underdogs are 6-2 ATS and 4-4 SU. The only home favorites to cover thus far this week? The Philadelphia Eagles, who covered in their 40-29 win over the Saints, and the Chiefs, who covered against the Cowboys in their 19-9 win.

Will the Scoreline Buck Week 11 NFL Betting Trends?

Under bettors have fared well this season, as the under has hit well over half the time. Week 11 has been no exception, as the under is 9-5 thus far.

However, trends for both the Bucs and Giants favor the over. In the Giants’ four road games, the over is 3-1, with their trip to Kansas City earlier this month the lone exception. The Bucs’ home games have produced a similar result, with the only under coming in a 38-3 rout of the Chicago Bears in Week 7.

Last Monday’s matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers fell short in the scoring department thanks to the Niners surprisingly having their way with Matthew Stafford and the Rams. But scoring has been the more frequent feature of Monday night games this season, as 50+ combined points have been scored in six of the first ten MNF games.

If you’re backing the Bucs and want to get in on some team total action, their team total currently sits at 30.5. Notably, the MNF winner has scored 31 or more points in six games:

  • Raiders 33, Ravens 27 (Week 1)
  • Packers 35, Lions 17 (Week 2)
  • Cowboys 41, Eagles 21 (Week 3)
  • Ravens 31, Colts 25 (Week 5)
  • Titans 34, Bills 31 (Week 6)
  • 49ers 31, Rams 10 (Week 10)

New York Giants vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Best Bet

Giants vs Bucs OVER 49.5

If you want to touch either side, good luck. There’s no debating who the better team is and what the result should be tonight. But if you’ve been trying to navigate the wild world of NFL betting this season, you know neither one of those things has not mattered one bit more often than it has mattered.

Overs are not hitting at a stellar rate overall this season, but we have had a good bit of scoring and entertainment in SNF and MNF games. Look for that to continue tonight. If you are into the over but also extremely confident about the Bucs, I suggest backing the team total as insurance just in case the Bucs get their romp and stomp on.
