Keeneland Wednesday Analysis

Keeneland Race 1- Start of the Early Pick 5

Post: 1:00 PM ET; Purse: $29,000 Maiden Claiming, 1 1/16 Miles on Dirt; Entries: 12

Wednesday racing from Keeneland kicks off on the dirt course over a route of ground. #7 FORGOT PASSWORD is favored and is the class of the field if such a thing exists in maiden claiming races. #1 LAURA'S ANGLE looks like she might have the pace edge early which could be helpful if no one else wants to win down the lane. #2 I'M STYLIN could get the best of the race flow. #3 MADAM PIE is 8-1 but comes in with the top speed figures in the group and could be a steal at this price. Players are wise to spread here.

Selections: 7-1-2-3

Keeneland Race 2

Post: 1:32 PM ET; Purse: $41,000 Claiming, 1 1/16 Miles on Dirt; Entries: 6

#2 COUSIN LARRY is co-second choice and is proven at the distance. #5 SPEIGHTSTOWN AGAIN is a solid price and comes into the race in good form. #1 TIZ RYE TIME is the favorite and is a likely winner in this spot given his speed figures. #4 GENERATOR is another 5-1 shot who is a reasonable contender.

Selections: 2-5-1-4

Keeneland Race 3- Start of the Pick 6

Post: 2:04 PM ET; Purse: $32,000 Maiden Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 11

#11 CARNIVORE is well bred for this spot. He’s well worth the 5-1 price. #3 PAYNT YOUR WAGON will look to get a perfect pace setup for to break his maiden today. #8 KEEN MIND is tops in speed and class numbers, but early in the career it is hard to fully trust the numbers. #9 BIG PETE has done nothing wrong to this point in the career.

Selections: 11-3-8-9

Keeneland Race 4- Start of the All Turf Pick 3 and Late Pick 5

Post: 2:36 PM ET; Purse: $86,000 Allowance, 5 1/2 Furlongs on Turf; Entries: 16

The 4th at Keeneland kicks off both the late pick 5 and the new popular all turf pick 3. #7 CHEEKY CHAPS is the favorite and has proven good over the distance. #9 DR. DUKE is at odds of 12-1 and fits on class and comes into the race in great form. #4 ROCKSTAR RO is at odds of 6-1 gets Gaffalione in the saddle on turf which is always worth a look . If the race comes off the turf which seems unlikely at this point, #16 JACK VAN BERG becomes an extremely dangerous player.

Selections: 7-9-4-16

Keeneland Race 5

Post: 3:08 PM ET; Purse: $84,000 Maiden Special Weight, 6 1/2 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 10

#2 FAN THE FIRE is at odds of 2-1 looks to have a speed and pace advantage on the field. If this one isn’t chilly on the board it seems like one of the most likely winners on the card. #10 PINE VALLEY (4-1) and #7 MASK PATROL (10-1) are both well bred for this condition and go out for top notch connections. #9 MUMAYAZ just might get the right setup from the 9 post to cross the wire in the number.

Selections: 2-10-7-9 (Best Bet: #2)

Keeneland Race 6

Post: 3:40 PM ET; Purse: $93,000 Allowance, 1 1/16 Miles on Turf; Entries: 6

Selections: 1-4-5-3

Keeneland Race 7

Post: 4:12 PM ET; Purse: $88,000 Allowance Optional Claiming, 7 Furlongs on Dirt; Entries: 7

The penultimate from Keeneland features #2 MOVIE MOXY who is in good form and seems like the right choice as the race favorite. #7 BREAK CURFEW is a better price on the morning and hasn’t done anything wrong of late. #5 THINKING has been cycling up and goes out for good connections. #3 PIECE OF MY HEART may look to run them off their feet here and could go wire to wire.

Selections: 2-7-5-3

Keeneland Race 8

Post: 4:44 PM ET; Purse: $84,000 Maiden Special Weight, 1 1/16 Miles on Turf; Entries: 15

The Keeneland finale is an overdrawn field. #15 AZAMANA EMPIRE looks good on class, speed, and form. #8 COLD CALL is an interesting price at 12-1 given the breeding. #1 ALREADY CHARMING is at odds of is 5-2 and will hope for the right set up. #4 GIMME MO BABY is another who may need the right pace set up, but if she gets it she could find her way to the winner’s circle.
